About East Coast Magic

About Us
John Blake

John Blake, the owner of East Coast Magic, started off in magic in 1972. He first started working as a stock boy at Lou Tannen’s Magic Shop in New York City. John worked his way up to becoming a demonstrator and then moved on to head demonstrator. He later became the manager and finally became an owner. John left Tannen’s in order to have the opportunity to be able to perform, teach and consult more. His most memorable years there were when he was a student of Slydini and Frank Garcia. John was also fortunate enough to be helped by many other well known magicians of the time. John has since started East Coast Magic on June 1, 2002 but still continues to perform, teach and consult. John now also has a line of products that can be found under ECM Products.

Marie Schechter

Marie joined East Coast Magic in 2008. Since then she has pretty much taken over. Marie lets John continue to believe he is in charge. After all, he is a magician and he does come in handy.

Jet "The Wonder Dog"

He wonders about this.....and, he wonders about that. Jet was born on June 15, 2001. He joined the magic world when he was about four weeks old. In that time, Jet has had the good fortune of meeting and being scratched by magicians Tony Spina, Bob Little, Mike Gallo, Sal Piacente, Eric Jones, Reed McClintock, Strolling Joe Kelly, Dave Houser, The Late Great Bob Elliott, and his wife Happy, and many more.
